I live in a village where the postcode is rated 'A' :D . However just a mile down the road there is a different postcode on the edge of a town and this is rated 'C'. :?

. Another con how they assess for flood damage

A lot easier to assess the risk of flood damage since the Environment Agency produce maps for the UK.

cheeky buggers don't even mention the Isle of Wight - we're linked with Portsmouth - rated B - TBH ( won't say what my post code is ) many times I left my car keys in the car ( wife's car that is ) on the drive overnight - once we even went on holiday for a week and forgot to lock the front door !! Feel for anybody who has been burgled though - must be awful.

you can live in a block of flats or on a hillside and still be next to a river, your still classed as high risk

Interesting post, I bought a z4 as a second car in September had an RX8 in the past and now the boring 4x4 hence the desire to get the Z4. 14yrs+ no claims, clean licence and 30 yrs driving experience. My present insurance company would not even quote me on the Z4 based they said on area... which is a "D"

Correct, like the block of flats in Newburn near Newcastle which are being demolished today because the foundations were washed away by recent flooding of the River Tyne. In the end of the day if you live in an area at risk of flooding then you will have to pay higher property insurance than the norm. I'm surprised more people don't consider this aspect when deciding to purchase a property.
