Just changed the policy from my M to the Porsche, and all is fine except that my sunroof is not covered. They will not cover this factory modified option, so what does that mean then ???

How bizarre, is there a huge problem with Porsche factory fitted sunroofs :D

I will call back another day and see if I can get a non Indian person on the line. I had to explain what Cruise control was as well, which is listed as a modification whilst the SatNav and HiFi she did not want to know about as that was that was not classed as a modification. Trying to explain what dimming mirrors was, again was fun (at a cost of 8p a minute ...).

I will have shortfall insurance, so if the car gets stolen I should get invoice value back anyway no matter what they cover or not cover (for the first 5 years then).

I did not even go there with that, it is part of the "50th" pack which I mentioned but went straight over her head ...

Spoke to a Scottish lad, all done, all included and covered. Extra premium 59p

Now we know the premium on sunroof cover :)

No, srhutch was right - the 59p was for the parking sensors and the heated seats :D

never use the word "modification".... anything done by the factory or dealer is "Optional Equipment"
never use a company with a call centre outside the country ..... I don't speak pidgin
just tell them the price and that it's "loaded" .... tell them the trim level and be done with it...

Just don't crash it.... enjoy the new car  :driving:  :driving:

Can't do that over here, most call centres are not in the UK :headbang: and our insurance system is bizarre :dizzy:

They want factory fitted options and any modifications compared to the bare bone spec.

Modifications not even allowed on the Porsche (not planning either as it invalidates the warranty).

Fax them the build sheet, .... nitpicky fools. I don't like our system but it seems miles better .... I won't complain too much in future :)

... had the opposite experience as was asked what is the full retail price of the car including all manufacturer fitted options, do you have this fully itemised & documented... nothing further needed. By the way it was a UK call centre & insurance arranged through the Nationwide for class 1 business use.

Just asked a million & 1 questions about everything else

Bargain! ...I just need to start saving up to afford the purchase price of a Porsche now I know I should be able to afford to insure one! :D

That would make it so much easier rather than going through the pain of trying to explain all the details and having to phone up several times.
