I'm currently working for a BMW franchise as a product genius. (I just know I'm going to regret typing that.)

Quoting this for safe keeping

You were one of the usual suspects.........
Genius: an exceptionally intelligent person or one with exceptional skill in a particular area of activity:

Ignoring the first part obviously; I have a few ideas of areas in which you might just have an exceptional skill. :poke:

Must be a product genius. Just have to look at the evidence.

What car did you go for again? :D :D :D

PS If you hear of a similar post in this neck of the woods ley m know. All I have to do is post a pic of the car choice and the job will be mine.

I remember picking up an M135i in 2014 and had a product genius sitting in the car with me and I said what does this do, reply was errrm hmmmm

Then in 2016 picking up the M140i the sales girl demonstrated the sunroof and it wouldn't close, she ran off to the workshop :D

Direct Line wanted £620 from me, up from £387 last year.

A quick rummage around on Compare The Market got me insured with General Accident for £460. Simples!

Im afraid any loyalty seems to count for sod all in the insurance business!

I don't know about that though, the longer you stay, the more they give you (premium that is :P )

While I was looking around for alternatives, I called Direct Line and asked them to quote me without the wife on the policy, she never drives my zed but I usually include her in case of emergencies. The premium shot UP from £620 to £790!!!!

This was a surprise to say the least, seems that single male drivers are a higher risk than married ones.

As an oldie. I suspect that at milestone ages they will hit me!
On this Forum there at plenty of us 70+

I recently bought a 125cc 2019 Honda scooter for work commuting duties. Was quoted no less than £650 fully comp. Decent Zone 3 London address, garaged, 50 years old, lots of no claims etc. Two years ago it was circa £300. Suffice to say I dropped to TPF&T to get it back down to sensible levels.

Yep, including me Ron. 76 at present, my insurance premiums have been reasonable in recent years. I don't think that the recent hike is due to age, everybody seems to be suffering.

Mine said by including the wife who like yours only drives in extreme emergencies, there was no additional charge and may even reduce it slightly. It didn't of course but there was no additional cost

Not just this country either, I'm a member of a Hyundai Kona owners club on Facebook, mostly American owners on there all moaning their insurance renewals have sky rocketed, basically its a worldwide scam

I've heard that it's cheaper if you have a parent on your policy. Bit late for though

I’m ‘a parent’…. Want to insure me on your vehicles to see if the premiums reduce :driving:

My X5M - from new it was around the £450 mark, now over £900. Madness, but the insurance quotation process is so painful ...
My mates M4 he had(he just sold it),had went from around £450 when new,3 years ago,to over £1000 ,and he struggled to get it under £900 going elsewhere.
Apparently it's down to claims on certain cars for increasing costs of stuff like Windscreens with HUD etc on them,as well as other expensive parts
Crazy increases.
