Insurance cost

I was pointed in the direction of Howdens. Gave them a ring and they beat my renewal quote by £80. Put my home insurance with them also.

They don't do on line quotes and you ring a real person who works in a real office, in my case Harrogate. I now have his direct contact details and any queries I contact him. Old fashioned stuff and the personal touch I like.
Home and business with them but they couldn’t beat Chris Knott for my z4 and my wife’s Focus was a lot cheaper. As above real people, real office and really nice in both cases. Had enough of Hastings Direct.
Strange regarding Insurance companies. All those companies mentioned like Chris Knott and Saga, I tried and they weren't even close to my renewal quote. As mentioned, its also nice to speak to a real person and only deal with that person each time you contact them.

Well coincidentally I spoke with Saga today, regarding changing my car.
The F31 cost £300 up to April 2025.
To change the car to an Audi A4 (very similar car from an insurance perspective) from November to April was...........£1,003.00 extra! For 5 months. :o :o . So I told the chap to 'feck off' and spent a few minutes ranting about them taking the piss. He gave all the bullshit excuses about it being a 'more expensive car' blah blah blah, which is bollox when it comes to insurance.

I will be cancelling the Saga policy and getting a pro-rata refund of...............£5.21. Yep, £5.21 after they take their 'cancellation fee' off and give me 10p in the pound.

Did a comparison site quote and comes back at £360 for the year on the new car.

Car insurance is just one big rip off wherever you turn. :x :x

The worst time to get a quote is when you just bought the car it will be high, a quote to renew a Month before due date will be much better.

Howden insurance, used to be called A plan, they have now re branded / been bought out by Howden.
I have been with them for quite a few years...
