Ok I know insurance is mentioned a bit on here but...
just went to re insure my 3.0l and mentioned I had the D2 big brake kit to fit (8 pot 356mm :D ) Insurance shot from £600 to £1100.. for increased stopping power, Idiots.. anyway removed this from the insurance search and changed it to having added a supercharger and again £1100.

Just thought its crazy it costs the same to make your car safer as more dangerous :headbang:

Sorry my point, can anyone suggest a good company for modded z4s

If you do limited miles there are more options for mod specialists but they get uncompetitive if you go above 7k miles or so pa. I'm with Adrian Flux on 12k pa but I don't have any serious mods like the ones you mention. Give them a call, chat it through and add the pistonheads discount. You might be surprised.

Bigger brakes mean faster stopping, means increased chance of being rear-ended. Also means bigger cost should anything happen to them in an accident. Essentially insurance doesn't care about safety, just expense to the insurance company itself. Also why garages increase your premium - increased risk of damaging the car while parking up.

Try Adrian Flux, they're meant to be alright for mods.

Bigger brakes are also indicative of a person who plans on using them and statistically you'll be more likely to crash. Same to a large extent goes for supercharger, aero kits, etc.

To Boogles point on motorways these days I'm way more concerned about the guy behind not stopping than me, given how good the Zed is and how poor the combo of some drivers and average brakes are...

Adrian Flux would be worth giving them a call.

The motorway rear ending as said above is one of my fears been hit in France like that and very nearly hit again in France last year in the Z :(
