I'm wondering if the red needles (speedometer, tach, temp, fuel) on the instrument cluster illuminate at night on the M Coupe or does it just have background lighting?? Mine doesn't. The dealer said it's normal but he also said the shift knob shift pattern doesn't illuminate so I know he doesn't know these cars well enough. You guys will know. Thanks.

I'm sure both the needle and gear knob illuminate on mine - so take from that what you will.(ETA: meant to check this morning as it was dark when I left, but when I got into the office I realised I'd not checked)
However, maybe the Canadian model has less lighting as well as less power to reduce the environmental impact
