Instrument dimmer switch.

Being playing around with settings and noticed my instrument cluster is not as bright as I would like it, I seem to have dimmed it down.

Turning wheel does nothing, manual says dipped lights or parking lights have to be on for it to work, tried this both with lights on auto and lights off, dipped beam on, parking lights on and combinations thereof.

Doesn’t matter what I do, the scroll wheel has zero affect on brightness.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

i think it dims automatically when the car lights are on.

After reading the link it looks as if it’s working as it should, albeit there is no adjustment in daylight.

Ah well, at least I’ve not been missing something simple.

I recall a brightness setting in idrive settings for hud and instrument display. I could be mistaken.
The roller only made a difference when I drove the car at night. During the day it did nothing.
