Installing security system?

I recently bought the TK103B GPS tracker, and I'm lost in where to install it. I opened up the box under the hood and found a tangled up mess of wires.. which I found discouraging. I've read there is a fuse box behind the glove compartment, and access points behind the stereo to install add-ons, and more access points in the trunk. Has anybody tried doing this on their own before?

When I installed my Passport Qi45 (Radar Detector), I accessed switchable power from the fuse box behind the glove box. It's pretty accessible, and has the advantage of being near the firewall pass thru points if you need them. There are also non-switched fuse sites there as well.
 
Where is the GPS Antennae located or is it external? That is going to limit you choice of installation locations. My tracker (at least that's what I think it is) is in the trunk.
