install power steering pump on non-M?

It would SEEM that installing a power steering pump onto a non-M 2.5i should be a simple process correct? Am I correct in understanding that the non-Ms just have an idler bolted in place of the power steering pump? If so, then an e46 power steering pump should be a direct bolt on.
