INSTA/INPA Question

I've got a shiny new windows 11 laptop and want to install the bmw software onto it to have a little look around.

My laptop doesn't have an ethernet socket and it seems to be missing on the new machines as well

I've looked on some of t' internet and it seems to suggest that I need this to connect it to my computer. I have a veepeak Bluetooth adapter and Bluetooth on the laptop - will INSTA etc work using Bluetooth or do I need to buy an old machine just to get the ether net connection?

I'm not IT literate but I can punch things until they work properly

You don’t say which model you have, but with mine for the e89 the cable connects to a usb port and then the the obd port on the car, if you have the g29 then you need a cable that has a usb to laptop and Ethernet to car

ISTA only works with USB emulation of the serial port , some ancient other connectors for E85 etc and ICOM which is Ethernet bssed AFAIK…
