Inspection / Service pricing

Hi guys,

Been a while since I posted.

Car's up for a service - not sure which one but has 56k on the clock now.

I called up my regular "Indy" garage and they advised that the cost will be £180 or £370 depending on which service it is.

I've done a little search on here and noticed that service prices are generally 200-350 pounds from "Stealers".

I haven't got my handbook handy so wanted to see if anyone knew which inspection my car requires (based on the 56k milage) and secondly would be great to get an opinion on the pricing quoted?

Thanks,

Likely to be either inspection 2, or if that was carried out last it should be an oil service. Don't you have the service record? Also, the dash should read either inspection or oil I believe depending on which kind of service is required.

Ok so its flashing up inspection so I assume it is inspection 2 as its on 56k miles and the last thing done was an oil service.

So back to the question - indy quoted £370 pounds. Is that expensive?

Update on this - called up local BMW garage. Oil service - 159 pounds. Inspection - 370 pounds so basically similar pricing to the Indy garage. Called up the indy, explained the situation and asked if they'd be willing to do a better price. The lady on the phone said "no as it means we'd have to cut corners" and put the phone down on me!

So at the moment its booked @ the BMW garage + courtesy car booked. Shame its a 1 series. I told the guy I was disappointed as when I book the Audi in they always give me a nicer car to tease me I suppose :)

£464 for i-2 from a dealer which led to a nightmare of other problems. Go with the the indys unless you have some sort ofbullet-proof warranty.

Good luck :)
