called in to paddock motors near exeter today to get a price for looming inspection 2, set up looks v good, the very obliging guy in the office said they would need it the night before, service inclusive of correct oil and filter , air and cabin filter, spark plugs, gearbox oil , diff fluid change with correct fm oil, labour and vat 580.00
sounds very good deal to me, anyone come accross them before ? independant bmw and mini specialists, btw they have in the showroom a mint as nint can be alpina 635 i think just like brand new.
 
Hi mad4slalom where are you based? Do you have an m? Sounds very reasonable if so.
I'd be interested to hear of any experiences as if/when I find the car for me I believe these guys will be one of the best/closest indi specialists. I read a bit about them after searching google think it was on an m3 forum that sounded really positive. Do they offer any courtesy car?

yes they do , i am in mid cornwall so will leave the m with them the eve before so its cold for the valve clearances then stay in sidmouth with mrs mad 4 for the night, have a look around the jurrasic coast at lyme regis and collect the car at the end of the day, a nice little jolly, will report when its been done :thumbsup:
 
Inspection 2 done at John Clark Aberdeen Today , car dropped off yesterday - good surprise on pick up charged 100 quid less than the quote including use of a 116d for the day ( man has that thing got some awful plastics in it) - all good except they put the 3 week old pilot sports down for advisory - think they need a new tyre gauge - got them to remeasure them.

Even didn't wash it liked I'd asked so the detailer's hard work has been saved the ravages of the dealer sponge ( i went to the F-type launch up here any guess what the F-type already had marring in the paint)

MOT passed at a local indy the day before - so all set for the next 12 months :driving:
 
Heard good things about paddock motors . Will be going there for my Ins2, when it comes up. Went to Ocean plymouth for Ins1, good service but £900+ was plain silly.

PS When we having a SW meet? :wink:

Can I ask what JC charged for the Insp. 2?
 
I'll get the exact figure when I get home- I tried JC Dundee and Eastern ( heard good things about them from BMWCC) - basically it wasn't worth the petrol to head to Dundee.

Ok here was the breakdown from John Clark

Inspection 2 Cost =782 including VAT

Brake Fluid Replacement =124.8 Including VAT

Loan Car =22 Admin fee

I just checked Main Dealer Discount and the cheapest-"Nearest " to ABZ is 811 at Lloyd in Newcastle for Inspection 2 - so Im pretty happy - although going through the breakdown the Brake Fluid replacement is pretty steep - main dealer show 60-70 quid for this.

I got the MOT done the day before at Wallace Performance which has a good reputation up here
