Inspection 2

Main dealer, it has a main dealer service history so I thought I'd at least keep that going to I2.

Don't forget to ask for the 'inspection' reports - i.e. the before & after shim measurements, tyre depths, pad/disc thickness, etc.

£849 including a brake fluid service/change.

I'll ask for the reports but tyres, disks and pads are all new in the last few weeks.

Coopers in Tunbridge Wells, I just went in and asked, saying I was likely to be going to an Indie. They came back with £799 and £111 for the brake fluid which they later dropped to £50. I did however have to speak to the same service consultant each time - probably some commission thing going on.

My I2 has come up at 49,700 ish and the car is on a 56 plate.

All done, no scares except for paying, which is scary at any price. Good for another 15,500 miles now.

Nice one. Did you notice any difference in performance, or noise or engine smoothness etc?

Yes it felt more 'lively' on the way home and the brakes felt much more solid after a fluid change, seems to have been well worth it  :driving:

Andi.

Did you get the before and after report on the shims? That's the thing that makes up the majority of the M tax (at least according to my dealer)

Nope, sadly the service 'consultant' wasn't in when I collected the car so I only got the basic report. I'll be ringing tomorrow or Monday to see what he has. They did give me tread depth report on the brand new tyres though

This forum has made me nasty and suspicious of dealers and I'd want the report. You paid the thick end of £300 for the privilege so best they prove they actually did the work.
