That price doesn't sound terrible based on BMW's normal ///M pricing.
Do you know if that includes the four-plus discount for cars over 4 years old (assuming your's is)?
I'd give a few local dealers a ring to get a better idea as the prices are changing from week to week.
I'd also ask for a parts & labour breakdown of all the inspection 2 elements, as you'll probably find half the labour is the dealer 'checking' for other maintenance items they can add-on for you. (I was quoted within about £10 for two dealers - even though one had a labour rate of £50/hour more).
I paid £860.00 for an inspection II at Knights @ Stafford about a month ago, this was only after a ring round though, they started at £1,070.00
Knights @ Stafford said they would price match any other recognised dealer quote, I contacted Cotswold BMW who have a fixed pricing structure for servicing including M cars they quoted me £800.00, so Knights 'almost' matched it
I've just been ringing around to get some prices for the Insp2 that's due on my Z4M-R.
Have been given the following prices...
Stephen James, Blackheath: £1020 inc parts/labour/VAT (with a claimed 10% discount on labour)
BMW Park Lane: £1193.33 inclusive
Vines Gatwick: Initially £1200... but dropped to £982 with 4 plus discount
Coopers Croydon: Initially £1058.56... but will price match the Vines price of £982
I'm just waiting on a call back from Stephen James Blackheath to see if they can do me a better price.
Do these prices sound reasonable to everyone? Can anyone recommend any other garages in the South East that they've used in the past?
Mine isn't due for another 25k miles yet but I was planning to try Murketts at Huntington because in previous threads they seemed to be cheap and be real M enthusiasts?
Coopers Sevenoaks did my M3 Insp 1 (I think it was 1) for £780 last year. Richard is the man to speak with there, nice guy. They price-matched as best they could to get it to that figure.
Now they're a MINI dealership only but on the Coopers website it states they still do BMW servicing/bodywork etc. I'll try them when the Z4MC needs a service but will enquire as to whether their technicians are still BMW-trained (rather than just MINI-trained) and if they have a BMW stamp as there's no way I'd want a MINI stamp in the book
Always uses BMW or Bosch parts, and wont do anything without talking and showing your first....great guys great service and as you can see great prices...
