Inspection 2 price for a 2.5 2006 Z4

Hi guys,

Looking at a 2.5 2006 Facelift Z4, the only thing is its due its inspection 2 service.

What sort of price would I expect to pay at main deal and/or an indie?

For my 53 plate 3.0L I just got quoted £360 specialist independent, £520 BMW main dealer (both South London area) both including all parts and labour. Sure it would be cheaper outside London though!

I'm trying to knock the trader down £500 to cover this cost.

It has a full BM SH and I'd prefer to keep it if possible. Even if just for a better re-sale value.

I went into my BMW main dealer in York and the service manager said an inspection 2 service for my 2007 3.0si would be exactly £365 and no more than that which means when it's due I will get it done there.

For non M model,s anywhere around £300/£350 Insp 2 is worth main dealer treatment & stamp but don,t be fooled into thinking it will add value to the car :?
it may make it easier to sell especially if the history is unbroken but in general the extra cost of BM servicing over indy as the years go on will not reflect in the £££ you can add to the car,s value

£350 seems a fair price, especially if I can get them down £4-500 ;)

Stupid question but: is it worth getting a 2.5 over the 2.0?

Yep that is a stupid question :) what about the superb 3.0 you would love that one I adore mine :)

My £7000 budget won't stretch to a facelift 3.0 - I've seen a 2.5 in my price range so I'm going to have a look at that.

Alternatively there is a nice blue 2.0 I went to see at the weekend.

Ahh ok I didn't realise, I would go for the 2.5 as the 6 pot engine just sounds so great.

BMW today quoted £520 for insp 2. Local Indy specialist with good reputation (better rep than BMW actually! ) - £304!!

Indy it is, then.

my 3.0si just got done by BMW main dealer (ocean BMW in Falmouth) cost was £396 all in, including a free valet 8)

Some good info in here. Also seen that maindelaerdiscount website mentioned on here, which seems to save a few bob!

Wonder what would happen if you simply found the cheapest price on MDD, then phoned up the dealer direct and asked them to split the difference between the price shown (dealer price + MDD deposit/commission) and the price you pay the dealer?

Do you have to pay MDD a payment ontop of the price quoted then?

A referral fee as such?
No, it's included in the total.

You pay MDD a deposit out of the total, and pay the balance to the dealer when you pick up your car.
