Inspection 2 & 24month

The dash says I've got 1800miles until I need an inspection, so I popped in to BMW Southend and discussed pricing and what does/doesn't need doing. Basically I need to go to town on my p&j.

Inspection 2 - £550
Brake fluid change - £106

I asked "if I got quotes from other dealers would the price change?", "no", I question this "are you sure?", and they immediately gave me a 5% discount. I wasn't too keen on the price, especially as this week alone I'd bought a new key £138, new glove box housing £60, and now they want another £656 from me! So, £860 in one week! Ouch. I also need two new tyres, vreds (£360 fitted) and I've just replaced the ballast on my xenon/hids £120. On top of little mods like a stubby £20, dice due £120, dice dsp £80, iPhone holder £5, plus the premium fuel I feed her, she's one pampered little princes!

New pads and disc needed soon, along with a potential re-map.

Hopefully I shouldn't need to spend anything else on her for a while, other than the usual megs stuff.

I am in the same boat but i wont be paying more than 300 for an inspection 2 i thought those sort of prices were for the m cars... its 300 or i go to the indi's

See if you can get it done under the value service plan, £340ish all in.
That's how mine was done last year at Crossflags BMW in Dumfries.

I paid £320 at bmw main dealer for inspection 2 and they said if I wanted the brake fluid change its 60 quid tell them to do one , or ask if they price match an indy with a price you can quote with them. A local indy wanted 280 for inspec 2 , bmw wanted 395 we agreed at 320

I'm shocked there's such a massive price difference between dealers!

Didn't even give them the opportunity to price match. They put my back up after I found out these prices! You would have thought they would offer the value option as well.

Anyway, I think I've come out of this pretty well. I went down to visit a BMW specialist called Phoenix, in Rayleigh, Essex (by makro). Theyve been around for 20years, and a big chunk of their business is servicing. Wasn't as pristine as the BMW show rooms, but the garage itself was immaculate. Had a Alfa being remapped, a m3 in for new brakes, and a 1 series in for a service. When I was standing at reception I noticed lots of z4 pics. A purple and yellow racing car, which one of the mechanics was pit crew for.

Price wise, £358 all in which is inspection 2 and brake fluid change. All oem parts. Booked it for the 14th.

I need to get my inspection 2 done aswell. Is it rude asking if they would price match an Indy? BMW Croydon said £450 to me. I only want to spend about £325 at most... Is it worth ringing around dealers and getting different prices together?

Thanks,
Max
