inspection 1

I went to the dealer this morning to collect my z4m coupe and they agreed to service the car which was included in the agreed price. When i looked at the bmw invoice for the service it was £668 i looked at again thinking what the hell did they do for that price to see they had carried out inspection1. The car has only done 13100 miles its a 2007 reg was this to early to carry out or is it fine. I am happy though as the dealer paid for the service and not me.

No way unless they give you the before and after readings. I wouldn't worry though its not done enough miles yet and it seems lots of these don't need shims changing until the mileage gets a lot higher.

It does seem early and I can't help but think the scheduling of Insp 1 & 2 are there for a reason. However I agree with previous poster that you can't over service the car. So to me, a big free smile to go with all those you'll get by driving the ///M. Enjoy the car.

Just did inspection 2 myself and it took me over 9 hours total, but I was taking my time and pottering about as it was the first time I did it myself. Also changed the plugs and VANOS filter while it was apart. The flat rates on this vary from 4-6 hours, sometimes more. I found only 1 valve out of spec at 49,000 miles.
