Righto forum fans, what should i be aiming for?

Just had my letter from bmw saying my first mot is due, i also have Inspection 1 due in 400 miles so i was going to get them both done together.

Just rang the dealer and he said £247 for Inspection 1, and £54 for the Mot. (2007, Z4 coupe, 3.0Si)

Does this sound about right?

Just got a price from an indy and they said £265 for the service and £50 for the MOT, which is erm, more than the dealer.

TBH, the first price dont seem to bad to me just wondering if its in the right ball park.

You called the wrong indy then lol!

It sounds like keeping a full BMWSH is going to cost you £50 at most. Sounds reasonable. Iirc, my Ins1 was £300.

Call your three nearest BMW dealers get there quotes then choose the one you want to go with and get them to match the cheapest price.

I also found the BMW specialists near me not to be much cheaper than the stealers, all depends where you live really.

Inspection 1 isn't covered under your "no maintenance fee" plan? 4 years/50K miles?

I'm still waiting to get mine. Computer says 4K more to go and I'm at 35K now!

No in the UK unless you have a maintenance plan, which I dont think they offered, but wouldnt be worth it in my case unles it was offered free.

Get your MOT done else where - should be around £35.

Price sounds good for Insp 1, but I would take your own oil (need around 6L IIRC) to save some money that way. Also adds the benefit of knowing what's going into your car. You'll probably save around £30 that way...

An added benefit of going to BMW is they should do a warranty check also and fix anything they find while the car is still under warranty.

I was thinking this too, plus its the garage that the car was serviced at before i bought it so it keeps the book 'right', i need to get my arse into gear about getting my tyres sorted because its not going to pass an mot with the rears the way they are.

Looks like its going to be an expensive month.

Would go with BMW not a lot more and like you say keeps the book correct and as Peddy said you can take your own oil that will save a few quid.

KwikFit MOT £35 but as you say, BMW inspection and they check everything. They pick a fault that is covered under a warantee then you may save a fortune.

that price sounds about right, my local BMW dealer quoted me £267.00 and MOT £50.00.
But as others have said, you will pay less at an independent specialist.
