Inside Rocker Cover Cleaner

As above really, what's everybody using to clean the inside of the rocker cover of oil/gunk? I have some engine degreaser but I didn't want to compromise the plastic cover.

Thanks,

Andrew

I used kitchen towel to get most of it out and then some bike chain degreaser but I don`t think the engine degreaser will harm the plastic . Probably worth a google search

I tried the search function and Google but saw mixed responses on Google. Some people warned about thr plastic potentially turning brittle and cracking.

Ok I suppose it depends on the formulation . I used muck off degreaser with no problems . https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nano-Tech-Litre-Fast-Action-Biodegradable-Cleaning-Fluid-Safe/dp/B000NNQHYC/ref=pd_ybh_a_d_sccl_1/262-3020633-4360761?pd_rd_w=YrD4I&content-id=amzn1.sym.8376088b-0f61-403e-bc7e-9463f4fe112d&pf_rd_p=8376088b-0f61-403e-bc7e-9463f4fe112d&pf_rd_r=HAVM65S404RHC2MTBWW1&pd_rd_wg=V3d71&pd_rd_r=26902148-9b08-4c91-a15c-eb57a310fc6b&pd_rd_i=B000NNQHYC&th=1

I used Surfex HD, mixed about 1:5 in water. Sprayed on and agitated with a stiff brush then hosed it off.
Some bits needed a second go

Good stuff that , I use it on the car but I didn`t even think about using it for the rocker cover :headbang:

Pressure washer works wonders!

The adult super soaker did spring to mind but I've got no way of capturing the oily water spray without it making a big mess of something else.

Had a go with some engine degreaser last night and it work reasonably well. Still some gunk in there but relatively lean now. Thanks for the ideas folks
