Hi. Dbrs
Unfortunately installing INPA is not straight forward. I’ll explain the basics & give you a link to a good video.
There are different ways to install INPA depending what operating system you are using. The CD that came with the cable may be a copy for Windows XP or Windows 7. If you are running Windows 10 you will need to download the most up to date version off the internet.
A WORD OF WARNING! I would advice not loading any unauthentic software on to your main PC. Because of viruses or corrupt data files that could damage your OS.
I installed INPA on to an old laptop that I run virtual copies Windows XP & 7.
First you will need to copy all the installation files to your C: drive. Then follow the installation steps one, two & three. Theses installations make changes to your OS registry & if the data files are corrupt this is what could damage you OS.
Once you have successfully installed INPA, you will need to install the drivers for the cable. It is imperative that this is done correctly because this is the link between the INPA software & your car. You will need to setup the correct Com/Port setting using Device Manager.
If you do intend to load the software on to your laptop, I would advise you create a system recovery before you start, then if things go wrong, you can reset your PC to that point.
All the information you need is in this video & I recommend you watch it a few times, until you understand how its done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
