Hi,
hooked up laptop last week (17th April 2021) to INPA and i got the following:
Error: 2 (2) No: 10923 2AAB Variable intake system, self-diagnosis frequency: 1
error type: 8 (43) Self-diagnosis / mechanical or hardware defect
Readines Flag: (16) Test conditions met
error status: (32) Error currently not available, not OBD debounced
MIL - Status: (48) Error does not cause the warning lamp (MIL) to light up
P code: P14C2 DISA (differentiated suction system) actuator 1 - mechanical defect or hardware defect F_LZ: 40
environment text / entry at 246848 km (1.)
Voltage terminal 87 13.81 V
Speed ??2752.00 rpm
Air mass calculated 81.39 mg / pc
Ambient temperature 12.75 ° C
I cleared the error down and took the car out this weekend (25th April 2021) for a long drive (circa 140 miles)
hooked up INPA (26th April 2021) and now i get the following:
$ FehlerOrtNr: 10882
$ FehlerOrtText: 2A82 inlet VANOS
57022A82880000120122789E364415BD00000000000000000000000000
Error: 2 (2) Nr: 10882 2A82 inlet VANOS frequency: 1
error type: 8 (218) stiff, jams mechanically
Readines Flag: (16) Test conditions met
error status: (32) Error currently not available, not OBD debounced
MIL status: (49) Error would cause the warning lamp (MIL) to light up
P-Code: P0012 Camshaft control inlet (bank 1) - control error, implausible position F_LZ: 34
environment text / entry at 247 024 km (1.)
Motor speed 1728.00 rpm
Camshaft inlet 77.20 ° CRK
Camshaft inlet setpoint 58.40 ° CRK
Motor temperature 93.75 ° C
The question i are the two errors related, or do i have two issues (DISA and VANOS). I have an E86 3.0 SI auto with 153k on the clock. Last bit of tinkering i did was change the oil and oil filter about three weeks ago. Aside from that at 150K (April 2020) i did preventative maintenance, replacing VANOS solenoids with new ones (VAICO), serpentine belt and pulley, waterpump and thermostat, gaskets, plugs, air filter, oil filter, brakes all round, new tyres on each corner, rear springs, and coils.
Any steer in the right direction would be appreciated, in the meantime i have cleared down the faults and will take the car out for a good run this coming bank holiday.
Cheers
