INPA Install Tips

Not really specific to E85 but wasn't sure where else to post this.

I've got a suitable cable but I need to use a virtual machine to install (I have a mac). I already have windows 10 via vmware but INPA isn't liking it, probably because it's a 64-bit version. I don't suppose anyone has any advice on how best to install INPA or even better an image they're willing to share.

If nobody else has one I'll soldier on and make my image available once it's working but looks like it won't be quick so thought I'd ask the question before losing a couple of evenings

There's an installer about somewhere on the forum for INPA and some other software.

Whether it'll pass through the USB cable to the VM or if you need to adjust the speed of the port on the VM I can't remember.

Thanks for reply. Had a good search but couldn't find it on here however there are a lot of threads mentioning INPA to be fair so could well have missed it. Managed to find an image online and configured the cable and seems to be working. Once I know for sure by actually trying it out I'll share the image with anyone who would like it

If you're trying to do it on a Mac then the simplest way is to use bootcamp and install windows onto its own partition, then it works just like a windows laptop

I run mac’s too, so bought a cheap dell laptop and slapped it on there. Less hassle than messing with bootcamp and introducing the potential of viruses to the mac :o

Thank you for all the posts, appreciate the offer of help and the advice.

Well for all you Mac users I have got it setup with a virtual machine. So you can run Windows within OSX. Boot camp not needed and no issue with viruses. Once I’ve confirmed it’s working I’ll share it. I’ll be testing it’s all ok this weekend. So it would include the virtual machine software, windows and all the tools so ready to go, just a case of installing the cable

Oh and it should work with windows too, just a case of downloading the virtual machine software for windows rather than Mac first (which is free).

Just to say that I got it working, so if you're stuck like I was just let me know and I'll send over a link to download
