INPA / DIS / SSS Almost?

Right after much playing around and on to the second installation (involving a re-format just to be sure...) of the 'one click' software solution I am no further forward.... I can get INPA, Navcoder, NCS Expert and WinKFP to work fine on the E85 (but not on the E87?). When it comes to DIS and SSS its just not playing ball at all, screenshots below, any ideas???

DIS connection error

SSS connection error

INPA connection error for E87 - works fine with the E85

if not in xp, run as administrator.

also, make sure the vm machine has access to the cable (and if it's the usb cable, make sure the drivers for it are installed on the vm - and the com port number and latency settings are set on the vm as well

Have you disabled the windows firewall and anti virus?

Firewall is disabled and I never re-installed the anti-virus so that's definitely off.

Thinking about this, if it's working on your E85 then the setup is OK, it must be communicating with the cable etc. It must be something in the E87

judging by the message ,you still have something running, double check your windows firewall and antivirus.

Windows 7 starter so I'll try running as Administrator...

I've added a "serial port using port COM1" - which is my USB cable.

Off to try this... Fingers crossed for me!

i tried and failed with "serial port on com1"... try adding the actual usb device and installing the drivers on the vm (this got SSS to work for me!)

You need to check when dis is first open that the diagnostics head signal is lite top right, if not then you have to click on admin bottom right and diagnostic head in right column. The click on Laptop 192.168.68.1, then click back arrow bottom right. Now in admin click on connection head, another box will appear click ignore and close.

Now run dis again should work, just did mine again tonight.

Right well I don't have any diagnostic heads showing, clearly an issue, how do I get one installed / visible here? I can't seem to enter the parameters on those boxes for the "ok" button to be highlighted?

OK so usb device installed and I think working OK, VMware settings:

However I've now developed a new problem! (great!) Just as I thought I was getting somewhere. This happened before which was part of the reason for the re-format and re-install. I've set the display from "auto-detect" to 1024 x 768 but it still comes up as this size. I've tried stretching the screen but being on a netbook I am limited by the physical size of it. Suggestions? I tried the reducing the RAM from 1GB to 512MB previously too on another recommendation which didn't do anything.

Ram must be set to recommended otherwise is can have problems

Which is what? 1GB? 512MB? 256MB? I've read people suggesting all three!

When you edit setting in SSS it should have a sliding scale but a recommended marker in green, you need to set it to that.

The green sector is 512MB. It seems to make very little difference for me however whether is is 512MB or 1GB.

I solved the resolution problem by connecting to a tv and repeatedly dragging the screen to be bigger, it then sorted itself out to its default resolution.

Still no further forward with DIS or SSS... still trying...
