Inkey$ 335i build thread

Picture taken during the 12 minutes the sun did decide to shine.

Forgot to mention this too. Met a friend and his family down there. Fellow Beemer fan and driving an E46 330i touring. Hit a freak hailstorm at 70mph on the A30 coming home, fishtailed with around 10 other vehicles, wrote off the 330. Luckily nobody hurt (his wife is 4 months pregnant and they have a 2 year old girl).

That could have ended a lot worse inkey  don't think the roofbox on the 330 would have aided when hitting the skids :o

On a side issue , i was studying winter tyres at great depth recently when purchasing & many users now run them 12 months a year .
They obviously wear quicker if doing big m/way miles in summer but for those of us who do sub 7k a year then they are a serious consideration & i doubt the fishtailing would have happened with quality winter or all weather rubber fitted

here's just one guys opinion

" i have had Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme on mine for approx 18 months and done 20,000 miles so far and looking like i will get another 20,000 out of them i also run them all year as they are good in both dry and wet and fatastic in snow , i also have aset of MTR's but only ever use them when i know i am going into extreme mud and so far they have only been changed once in 18 months

as for the road noise i don't think they are any noisier than the scorpions that they replaced

all in all i will be replacing them with the same when the time eventually comes that they wear out "

makes you wonder eh ?

Very interesting indeed. I'll definitely consider this option as and when I come to replace the current setup. Which incidentally I've been more impressed with this trip.

Awful hope everyone was on but on a side note that number plate now looks like an expletive lol!
Tom, you have no idea! Blacked it out as it's not my vehicle, but essentially it's one of those unfortunate registrations and the first thing I noticed when my friend bought the car and brought it round to show me. Subsequently called the car Farrell (after legendary **** Colin).

May he now rest in pieces and pay out a confirmed £3k of insurance.

Glad they're ok, but you can tell the car wasn't happy about it (see number plate). :o
