Inherited and wish to sell a Z4 - advice

Hi guys

My mother in law has just passed away and she has a 53 plate (2004) black soft top convertible Z4 3.0i auto. Despite having a lot of fun driving it, I have been charged with selling it by the executor. We are based in Oxford.

It was imported from New Zealand last year (no snow, so no salt on roads) and has 143,000km (89,000 miles) on the clock (it has km dials) It seems in very good condition. It just had a new MOT all good but advisories on front suspension bushes.

My questions are:
a) what are the features which are important to prospective Z4 buyers and enthusiasts which I should reference in the advert
b) where best to sell it
c) Am I right in valuing it between £3,000 - 3,200?

Thanks all!

things people pay premium for -;

Sport pack
sport seats+mfsw steering wheel + heated seats
upgraded audio
xenons

depends on the spec I'd say

SE will be around 4k mark if that
sport with decent kit will fetch 5k or so due to the fact that it's an import

ebay
these forums

are you best bets probably.

Hi Scooba - I''ve still got two kids under 8 so not practical for me and I can afford it. But I certainly would if I could. I can't say I like an automatic, but what's not to like about a low driving position, nice internals and great drive? Fun with comfort.

I would think the issue will be the clock in km

Why would a car have been imported. The cost I would think be high

She loved the car so wanted to bring it over when she returned to the UK (we told her not to!). I *think* it cost about 2,000 to bring over.

One more thing - if the SE is worth up to 4k what is the difference between the 3.0 SE and i? Thanks

Being a 2004 model, there was only one trim level. BMW added or removed the se designation at some point.

Sport models weren't available until facelift in 2006.

why can't the people who are inheriting her estate keep the car? why does it have to be sold? unless her estate is worth over the inheritance limit making it worthwhile selling it to help clear some of the tax bill
