Even if you seen the low life doing it with not proof its your word against his and nothing you can do about it.
I had an altercation where 2 people came up and threatened me when I had the top down stationary at a red light, and they damaged my car as I drove off (after seeing one get his key out) and he chucked his keys at the car. Even when the police arrived a few mins later it was my word against theres.They were still mouthing off at me when I flagged a passing patrol car.
CPS could not get proof to go any further as my word and my wifes (both clean records) is not as good as a already convicted pair of gimps. Even a 2nd out of court attempt where the police can issue a fine based on the cost of actual damage, (or something like it) but nothing. I think they got a caution and a small fine for the threatening behavior but thats it.
At one point they said I tried to run them over, unsure how I could do this when I was stationary, or was it as I drove off, not my problem if someone came into the middle of the road and lent over the car window with the fist in my face then pulled something out of his pocket, im off...... but had weeks of worry and the little niggle that I was going to get the cps after me for dangerous driving. But hay it was there word against mine so prove it.
Knowing my luck somone would have seen me speed off after seeing them quietly discussing something like directions to the pub and verify that I was deliberately aggressive and ran over his foot and so will be charged with dangerous driving or attempted murder.
no it did not happen, nor I ran over his foot, but it gets you thinking. The police did suggest it once at the scene after talking with the scabs but soon dropped it when I asked how when I was stationary and they came over to me.

Really sorry to hear about your Zed. Sickening isn't it. Such mindless stupidity. Someone drove into my Honda a couple of weeks ago in a car park and left a nice, noticeable ding. No note left on my car either.
