Have a read of some specs on Parker’s or autotrader and then take a few different ones for a test drive as it’s not all about the 0-60sprint and personally I think the turbo’d handle differently to the n/a and especially different to the e85’s.

Just like everything, it’s all personal preference and you’ll get an idea about which you prefer and what’s important to you.

I've retrofitted cruise (is relatively easy once you source the right parts, no new wiring but requires coding), and added heated/memory/msport seats (which does require wiring depending upon your original spec, and coding). the latter took me much longer than I hoped because of a lack of full information on the web and not many people have done it on the E89. I've posted my findings on here so just look for my previous posts if you're interested. Most people would just buy the car with those items fitted, but I paid a lot less for the car originally (because it was less desirable), and enjoy working on the car.

There's more than one issue on the doors freezing up - on my car, its not the rubber around the door causing the issue - its actually stuck in the door somewhere and takes a while to defrost with hot water getting the car heating on. I've yet to work out what is actually causing that. I can eventually get the door open but the door window can sometimes remain almost fully up and doesn't retract enough to let me close the door as it fouls on the roof. Its not my daily ride so it doesn't affect me that often, but when it does its a PITA!

We've had a 35i for over two years now. Fabulous car. If I was buying another I wouldn't have 19 inch wheels - we had to replace two with cracks (admittedly they were probably there from the first owner). Water managed to get into the rear OS light cluster which caused a problem - though I managed to remedy with the help of a Youtube video. My wife wanted heated seats which I could not see the point of - until it got cold - excellent! Wind deflector essential - we had to buy one from BMW.
It had done 15,000 miles when we bought it - now up to 50,000 - so 35,000 in 26 months. So smooth, so quiet, until you put your foot down. Average about 33mpg.

When you retrofitted this did you have to change the clocks as well?
With cruise factory fitted there is an indicator that lights up on the outside of the speedo where you have set the speed.

No, you don't have to. You can see that on the multifunction info display in the middle if you want.

No, on realoem there's two different part numbers for with/without cruise.. its not worth the effort IMHO
