Info required on 1st gen Z4.

My brother nor my dad fit in when the roof is up. Both are a smidge over 6.10 and around 21st, basically ex rugby players need not apply.

I think some people have a long torso/shorter legs hence the headroom issues, I fit in the MX 5 with the roof up (just) so a little bit bigger will be fine.

Evening all, Just got back from Putney with my new (to me) 2004 Z4 3.0 manual ! needs a few bits sorting but I'm chuffed to bits to be honest. Driving through London for the first time in a new car was a bit of an experience, but got home in one piece. who do you use to upload pics to as I've no idea ?

Congrats mate - I too have a 2004 3.0SE Maual ! I use Photobucket to upload photos - free account - when you've uploaded them on to Photobucket just click on the file to copy and paste on here - simples !!

Looking forward to seeing photos :D

I need a few bits for the car, 6 speed weighted gear knob, new mats and a headlight washer cover painted and lacquered. I found a google link to a site called BMWLAND that looks promising, has anyone used them ?

Ordered the bits.

The heaters are bonkers as well, roof down last night to try out the headlights and i had to turn them down as i was baking.

I am 6' and 15 1/2 stone. I find that I can easily fit in my Z4 with plenty of room between the pedals for my size 11's. certainly m0re room than a previous MX5, although with less storage behind the seats. The difficulty for me is getting out of the drivers side if that side is parked close to the kerb (every day when I park up). I have to resist the temptation to lever myself out using the door as a hand hold!!

I understand that, 6'2 16 stone with long legs, there is clearly a method to getting in and out swiftly but its going to take practice.

I am 176cm tall or short what you like, and 63kg. So i am small man. Z4 is still small car for me. Most difficult part is to open door and get in, then open door and get out. You have to limbo or what it is. When roof is open there is no problem.. unfortunately we have so cold climate here most of the time we have to drive roof closed.
For example E46 convertible is much more comfortable to go in and out. Z4 is so low. Z3 was even worse..

Getting in is fine and comfortable when I'm in, getting out though especially next to curb is not the easiest move, sometimes think it would be easier to discard all sense of dignity and crawl out of the car, then get up.
