Info on the Navigation Display

When I get my Coupe, I cannot decide if I want to get the Navigation or not.

One of my advance projects that I am working on is to put a 'Carputer' in the coupe'

To keep a long detailed post short, I am looking for info on the display so I can decide which way to go in this regard.

This query is in regards to the Display only.

I have looked on the Internet but the info is somewhat sparse, but I am still looking...

What are the capabilities of the display?

Resolution, type of input, etc....

This will not be my first project of this type for a car...
 
I've often wondered this myself - the resolution is crap in all honesty, but can't be too hard to fit a new display in the housing.
 
If you wanted to use a carputer I believe you would need to change the monitor, as above though it would be easy to use the monitor chassis though and probably the stepper motor could be used to keep it powered.

I have a spare so can post pictures of various parts/angles if you want.
 
Well, I am leaning towards a touchscreen display..

Just trying to get all the info I can before I start the hard design ...
