Inexpensive Chinese Steering Wheel Wrap

Looks as if they already do discount. 10% off 2 or more... probably worth asking about it. I'm sure they'd give more discount if they get x number of orders.

Pretty pointless it'll cost considerably more than the 10% discount to post it in the UK

Also more than 1 means its over the no vat/duty limit so a bulk order will be more expensive

its not real leather.....

Having dealt with a number of different Chinese companies I'd say it's worth asking if they're willing to make a real leather version....

Just a guess but can't see it being more than an extra $10

They do a leather one too. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mewant-Black-Genuine-Leather-Car-Steering-Wheel-Cover-for-BMW-Z4-2003-2004-2005/32824431999.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10152_5560013_10065_10151_10130_10068_10344_10342_10343_10340_10341_10192_10190_10307_9931_10301_10303_10060_10155_10154_10056_10055_5370013_10054_10059_10534_10533_10532_100031_10099_10338_10339_10103_10102_5580013_10052_10053_10107_10050_10142_10051_10324_10325_10084_10083_10080_10082_10081_10110_10111_10112_5590013_10113_10114_10179_143_10312_10314_10184_5570013_10078_10079_10073-10050_10102_9931,searchweb201603_25,ppcSwitch_5&btsid=894dda15-5679-415d-aaaa-bb269f2d5e1a&algo_expid=b5e7e43c-aa2c-45a6-8f5b-1a96df152c91-4&algo_pvid=b5e7e43c-aa2c-45a6-8f5b-1a96df152c91

Might have to look into that, my wheels really starting to look quite worn. Any idea if this is the same shape for the M wheels as well? I had thought the M wheel was thicker so it might not fit. Although mines an 'Individual' wheel so who knows what i've actually got...

I am not sure if it would fit the M wheel. The seller is pretty quick to respond so you could ask. The listing says it will only fit wheels that look like mine.

Actually (Dont quote me on this..) i think all post 2006 multifunction wheel's are the the thicker kind, the same as the M. Mine is anyway.
There adverts state: "Suitable car models:for BMW Z4 2003 2004 2005" so not 2006 onwards.

Apparently mine arrived yesterday (via AliExpress) but I'm not at home at the moment. Looking forward to having a go.

Did you get a leather one or artificial bud? Be nice to see the difference... I think OP (jmotsch) and Sgr74 both have the artificial one?

Looks on the face of it a good cheap alternative to the usual professional recover. For what it costs any one with an SE spec E85/6 could give it a go.

I went for the artificial one. The original wheel I find to be quite slippy and returns to that state quite quickly even after a good clean. My wife's Civic's wheel appears to be artificial leather and is quite grippy and so I thought I'd give this a try.

Ordered a non leather one. For £19 it's worth a punt, if it is great, I will not need leather. If it is ok but the leather one will be better, it is about £30 then it is not bank breaking to order that as well!

Just 20 or so days delivery they say.

It will give me something to do during those long, dark evenings.

I'm going to be so gutted if these turn out to look as good as the refurb I've just shelled out £150 on. Ah well, at least if I don't like mine when it comes back I can cover over it with a Mewant Car Steering Wheel Wrap

We will need pictures.

Indeed... it will make for an interesting comparison!

If I disappear for a few days that will be me drowning my sorrows over all that misspent cash

I'd say so. I imagine it would be quite difficult otherwise! Not impossible if you're worried about airbag stuff!

YouTube has plenty of videos of how to do it in situ. Just a bit fiddlier than removing it.

My steering wheel does not have any plastics covering the spokes of the s/wheel, will this be a problem with the finish?
