Can't bare to make long journeys without being behind the wheel of ....the z4mc. Got to go 130 miles to Norfolk tomorrow in wife's rav4 diesel which is slightly Dull compared to the black beastie , so much stuff and bikes as well, damn ! Hope to make up for this with a trip in mc next week over half term .No doubt we've all been through this ?

We're going to Scotland for Christmas in the Honda... Not an unpleasant car to drive, but like you say, just not the same. And I won't see or drive my baby for about a week. Having been hooning in August through the Glens, I am going to hate every driving moment I have, so I know what you mean

I'm with you Saskia. Took my wife's 4x4 to Andover this week - 220 mile round trip. Great for motorways as so high up but dull, dull, dull.

I can totally understand I only use the zed once a week & use my 520d daily & by god that's hateful in terms of performance, it's comfy & a nice steer, but I nearly smash it up every time I overtake anything it's gutless!! :headbang:

At least when I get behind the wheel of the TT or Zed they feel quick :D

I know what you mean

Our Honda's not slow, but I constantly sit behind cars on A roads thinking "if I was in my Z this would be easy :x "

Bing, buy a trailer and take it with you :D

Would need a tow bar too... Hmmm - Christmas presents to myself perhaps ? :D

I quite enjoy driving the S-Max. It's comfy with all the toys (cooled seats make you feel like you sat on a puddle though) and high up. Its "settled" cruise is faster than #69s but acceleration is a bit binary depending if it's on turbo or not. I've kept it longer than I intended to and extended the warranty. It's a bit of a barge but pleasant enough. It makes driving #69 that bit more pleasurable as you really notice the differences. I think if your zed is the daily drive you get acclimatised to it

I go in the opposite direction from Aberdeen to Southampton several times a year and done it in many different cars over the years. Currently use X5 4.0D Msport as need to carry a lot of stuff , not anywhere near being real M car but very capable. Does the journey in comfort and faster than the ZMC as it doesnt need any fuel stops so for fast long motorway trips in todays driving conditions I leave the ZMC at home however for the twisty A roads nearer home the Zis the choice every time.

LOL. Did not have the opportunity to go for a frive for 2 weeks so just spent Saturday doing the shopping and runîg errands and washing it.

you guys should count yourselves fortunate :o i can plumb the motoring depths you can only wonder about :)
try a laden 80bhp transit semi high roof diesel donkey for 450 miles in 8 hours !
makes a honda, S max or rav seem high performance 8)

Just got back in said dull shopping trolley , comiserations on you having similar bordem ! What did thrill me on the journey was, on the Peterborough bypass , yes .... a z4 M soft top flew past !
