You'd think so ... I've had a few bites but nothing concrete.

Had one offer closer to £15k !!!! :D

If that falls through, I'll give you £15K - I'd like a matched pair :D

Last month Wood BMW offered me that as trade in on mine too (35k with Nav). I of course told him what I thought, good old Wood...they are known for it of course. Got a bid of £17,000 at another dealer which I managed to get up to £19,500, all on the phone.

It goes to show what thieves they try to be to folk who don't fight their corner....especially as the latter dealer admitted right to me that the cheapest car with Nav they can find in the AUC was on at £23k.

Z4M market is a bit weird right now, but then a lot of performance cars seem to be sticking a bit.

Well I've lobbed a few hundred pounds off the asking price, now £18,850 on PH.

It's now the cheapest on PH by over £1,000, and at least £4,000 cheaper than equivalent cars on the BMW AUC.

There's a good home out there somewhere surely.

There are too many used Z4MC/MR around. Nice exterior and interior colour combination. But the car has not got sat nav. M buyers will like to pay extra for that.

I would definitely buy it at that price. The BMW sat nav is markedly inferior to TomTom et al, and certainly not worth the thousands that buying yours would save. Besides, I'm sure any buyer could pay for it to be retrofitted if they really wanted it. It's amazing that people aren't biting your hand off!

And on what basis do you arrive at that conclusion ?

There are currently 11 Z4MC's on the BMW Approved site at the moment and 16 on Pistonheads (1 of which is AUC). That's not many IMO.

There are 104 used S-Drive 23i's on the BMW site alone.....

Baj, have you tried offering it to a dealer or two? Surely if the car is priced circa 4k less than the dealer prices for an equivelant car, that must be close to trade-in already?

Hi,

I have yes, one offered around £15k, and another closer to £17k ... which was less than I'm willing to take. The one offering around £15k said that the screen price on their forecourt would be £18,995 :D Yeah right, just like all the others out there.

I want to sell the car, but I'm not going to take that much of a loss on it, the numbers wouldn't add up and it would make more sense to keep it.

Cheers

Look at it like the premiums a diesel 330d goes for over a 330i. The latter is often £3,000 cheaper than the diesel to buy, meaning the driver won't break even on his choice until he has done about 40,000 miles in it. It might be irrational, but it's a fact that impacts the car. Most private punters would never consider retro fitting, and overall the convenience and simplicity of built in Nav trumps portable devices for most people.

What a liar. The cheapest Z4MC on the AUC as we speak is nearly 23k, and it's an 06 with 47,000 miles and no Nav. I say NAME AND SHAME.

Just like my experience with Wood in Bournemouth, they are trying to steal it. £8,000 margin on a £23k car is outrageous - basically 35%!!!!

This stuff seriously ****s me off.

Well I've had a bit of interest recently, it's now up for £18,750!

I've still got the car mind (at the minute), so bit of a bump to the front page in case anyone else is looking.

Another week passes ... and I'm still running around in the M, not that it's a chore mind :driving: :D

Circumstances mean it's got to go though, I will let it go for the crazy price of just £18,000 if a deal can be done in the next week! The Parkers valuation for this car is £19,610!!

Hi Baj

Great Car, Your ad is printed and sitting on my desk for the last 2 weeks.

Porsche now sold and picked up, and finding it difficult to pop down the shops, not along arrange a drive up to Leicester :headbang:

I am sure it will sell soon. My personal opinion as to why it hasn't sell yet and puts people off:

- viewers see an MOT running out in less than a month (regardless of the BMW warranty)
- you owned the car for for 9 months only

Hi Andy,

Two fair points there ... the car will come with 12 months MOT, I've been waiting until now to renew it so as to preserve the annual renewal date, it will be sorted in the next week.

Unfortunately I can't do anything about the period I've owned the car, I have a genuine reason for sale though and the fact the car is still protected by BMW Warranty should alleviate any worries I'd of thought.

But then I've not sold the car ... so I might be wrong :D

Cheers

BMW warranty on an M is a good selling point IMO. 9 months ownership again with warranty wouldn't worry me to much. You could contact the dealer about recent warranty work if it was a concern.

Market just seems slow for private sales at present :(
