I've heard good things about Sterling Services on Preston Farm also although I've not used them myself. I can highly recommend D W Motorworks at Winlaton Mill ,Dean is excellent and knows these cars inside out.

You'll have to forgive Dean he is basically a one man band and can be hard to pin down as he's very busy. Stick with him trust me he is worth it.

If not BMWorx in Darlington also has a very good reputation.
 
I've used DWM and TA and both are excellent and I'd recommend both without hesitation. DWM is much cheaper as he has / had less overheads but it's a bigger drive for me...
 
If anyone is in the Durham area they should give the mechanic I use a try.He changed my roof motor and services a lot of my mates cars as well.Give him a text and mention my name.His no. is 07864860960 DAVE,YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED.

I'm not a million miles from Durham area. If you don't mind me asking, how much did he charge to sort your roof motor?
 
I bought the motor from BMW main dealer in Durham which I think are £350.The charge for fitting is £150.

Used him once and was good and very reasonably priced. Tried to contact him again recently, text, email and voicemail and doesn't reply now. Looking for another around wearside/ tyneside or Durham

I know he's been through the mill a bit for the last 6 months or so with I'll health, that and trying to get a new workshop set up. He has sent out a few apologies via his Facebook page as he knows things have got chaotic.

I’ve used Sterling Services with all my BM’s and MINIs for years. He’s a great bloke and would whole heartedly recommend him! He’s called Nick.

I've not used him myself but I've heard others recommend him too.
 
I thought Indy was a reputable place...guess not...wow. We had a S/S head repaired there and it was all good, but that was 15 yrs ago...
