two laps to go in the race, it got a little messy at the end. Avg lap speed 223mph, they were probably near 200 coming out of the turn....yikes.
I was watching it on the TV and saw all the different camera angles in rerun after rerun, the driver was apparently unhurt but the car looked like it had been through a shredder. Amazing !!!
Well it's been a long time coming, takes a while to accept
Seriously though, I can't believe Christian Horner's (team manager) comments - he's blaming the Aussie for the crash: is he blind? Webber was completely fautless IMO. Feel sorry for him as he's now got to work under that prat of a manager for the rest of the season, knowing he's unlikely to get fair/equal treatment to Vettel...
It looked as if Vettel caught Weber by surprise and Weber tried to close the door, then realised it was a little too late so moved back across the track to give Vettel room. Vettel certainly was on the inside, but he didn't have a particularly good line to turn into the corner. He seemed to veer across the track into Weber, presumably to improve his entry into the corner, and presumably on the expectation that Weber would continue to yield to him...
Whatever happened, it was the right result at the end of the race
Indy has always had some amazing crashes. They're all nuts!!!! The F1 crash was all Vettel's fault, he tried to intimidate Webber who was in fuel save mode whilst he wasn't and his attempt at barging past failed. He may respect Webber a bit more from now on.Webber is on a roll and I hope it continues, but you can see where Red Bull's loyalties lie,and he ain't an Aussie!!
