Individual Black Roof

I recently ordered a new 35is in Melbourne Red, and as the car isn't being built for a few months I've got too much time to keep changing my mind on colour and options, my first colour choice would be Valencia Orange but as that only comes with a Black interior that rules it out as I prefer a light coloured interior, so I think I have settled on the Red, having previously had a 23i in Deep Sea Blue. My question is what do people think of the Black roof option particularly with the Melbourne Red, as I've never seen one. Any opinions ???
 
Can't say we have seen one.
We have Valencia Orange with Black roof and Black on Black interior and we love it.
 
Not my cup of tea ! that`s what i love about my car with the roof up is the lines of the design. doing the roof black would make it look like my old z3 IMO !
 
We've ordered a black roof on our valencia orange zed, personally didn't like the roof in orange. Can't remember what our interior is (will find out on Thursday yay :D ) apart from it is some kind of black with an orange stripe alcantara. Think a black roof on red would look lovely too, but I'm not a fan of light interiors, maybe too many years of kids, dogs and muddy walks!
 
I think it would look ace to be fair. I've not seen a E89 with that combo but there is a metallic red MX-5 convertible near where I live with a black folding hardtop and it looks ace. Even the mk1 3.2 TT coupe in red with Black roof looked ace. I see no downside but all personal preference at the end of the day. Some colours wouldn't suit it but red would in my opinion.
 
Just found out, Baronbb your quite right, only with the Valencia Orange, WHY !!!! I was really warming to the idea.

Forget about the wheels, just like the mum, I can't get enough of the number plate!!!

I've never seen a black roof zed except in photos.

They remind me of spotted ladybirds somehow :)
 
Surely in that video that's not a standard exhaust system ? it sounds awesome, and do they automatically blip the throttle when you change down, or is that one a bit of a special

From what I can gather it's what they sound like - I'll find out on 27th and let you know :).

The car looks standard to me.

I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm before then :).

Don't know if that's a standard exhaust sounds a little louder, but standard exhaust is fantastic & does bang & pop on the down shift. I upgraded the hifi shouldn't have bothered lol have the roof down listening to the exhaust :D you'll love it :thumbsup:
