Hi All

I have a strange one and I only experience this when it is cold outside, during summer time it doesn't happen so it is cold related.
The Indicators will not function when indicator stalk actuated first thing in the morning when cold. Once the car warms up inside they start working. If they do work in the morning they can stop working, to get them to start working you can switch the car off and on. To me it is like there is something electrical that needs to warm up say like a faulty indicator relay. I have looked and cannot find that the z4 e85 2.2 has an dictator relay. If it does where is it ? also has anyone had this problem, if so what was the cause.

Update, clock spring changed and indicator stalk, still have the problem.

A long shot but how old is the battery. A failing battery can cause all manner of niggly problems

There is no relay in the system. the indicators are controlled by the LCM. Your LCM may have something internal going bad.

Thanks for the replies guy, battery is new but LCM is a good call and could be the cause.

Bumpyz4, dead right was the LCM, got a secondhand one, installed it and updated it with Pasoft putting in correct Vin and mileage in Km's. I did set an airbag light after this but cleared it with a full scan and then clearing all DTC's with my Xtool D8.
