indicators flashing

Ive noticed my 2005 2.5 indicators flashing after the car has been parked after a drive. I lock it then 20 / 30 mins later they flash continuously until unlocked / relocked. There is no alarm sound. Anyone else seen this or had this issue. This may explain why my battery goes flat very quickly after not being driven for a week or so.

I wonder if you have a faulty alarm, and a previous owner has disabled the actual buzzer/sound part of it so they can ignore it? I can't suggest a solution if that's the case - but could explain it.

That's happened to mine twice last week, the dog (yorkie) was in the car on her own when I jumped out for 5 minutes..when I came back the indicators were on , thought the dog had jumped on the hazard switch, but when I opened the car with the key remote the lights went off, hazards were not on ! so I'd be interested in any solutions to this too, then again It might not happen again...hope so !

Again that must be the alarm that your dog has set off... and your buzzer turns off after a certain time and the lights flash only. It goes through a cycle.

Ahh...that never crossed my mind as It wasn't making any noise, I was just across a narrow road for 5 mins., I'm sure I would have heard it ! but you never know !

The dog setting off the alarm is probably right, didn't think of that either  Could mean there is a problem with the noise side of the alarm ??

I'll check it out when I'm home in a couple of weeks , Thanks :)

The headlights flash too ive noticed. I'm wondering if theres a door or maybe the boot lid switch causing it. It was windy though. Think Ill take it to my mechanic.

Headlights also flash whilst the alarm goes off. Headlights and indicators. It honestly sounds like your alarm is being activated, and either the buzzer itself has broken or been disconnected.

Sorry to bump but thought id rap this up. 99% certain it was the bonnet open alarm switch. I disconnected it and have not seen the alarm go off since.
