Indicator problem: not cancelling

Just in the last couple of miles of my drive to work this morning, made a left turn after which the indicator didn’t cancel. I then flicked the stalk up to cancel and the right indicator came on. Down to cancel that, and the left came on again. After that the indicators just wanted to stay on after any use and I found my self flashing left, right, left, right until they finally stopped. Flashed the main beam to see if that was also playing up and the high beam stayed on until I was eventually able to cancel it.

Sounds like a failure in the stalk switch so I’m hoping this is an easy job I can do. Can anyone share a replacement procedure?

Fairly simple

Airbag off
Wheel off
4x t25 Torx to remove the offending slip ring and undo connectors

I have some in the parts bin if needed

Thank you! From the description of the fault, do you think it likely I need to replace more than just the stalk switch?

I’d guess that it’s likely to be the mechanism inside the slip ring itself as opposed to the switch

But that’s a guess!
