Indicator on when sidelights are on

There is a possibility this is the Light Control Module playing up.
Not sure how it would affect an MOT tbh. Gut feeling is a fail though.

Clutching at straws but have side lights been swapped to led

Good catch, there is a current issue and the indicator bulb always goes on when there is a bulb out

Non Canbus led bulbs may be the cause however I recently had a problem on the Z4 with the indicator bulb staying on with side and headlights, turned out to be some melted wires inside the headlamp causing a live short to the indicator bulb hence it staying on. There is also a bulb warning feature that illuminates the indicator if it detects a sidelight bulb out so illuminates the indicator as a backup.
I would put normal bulbs in the sidelights and see if that sorts it, if not explore for a short.
My fault manifested itself some time after I fitted supposed canbus compliant led bulbs, wonder if yours is the same cause?

So mine is doing the same thing after installing 2xcite lights that contain led bulbs. If I were to get the faulty led bulb coded out, would this turn the indicators off?

Not sure coding the bulb monitor out for the sidelight would prevent the back up indicator bulb illuminating but worth a go.
BMW Scanner 1.4 on a laptop can code it out using the light control programming menu if you want to give it a go.
