Indicator driving me mad

Anyone had a similar problem?

1 month almost to the day after my sdrive 30i turned 3 years and the left turn indicator has decided to flash at varying speeds! Sometimes it is the standard speed and then it suddenly goes into a gallop. I have looked at all three indicator zones (front, back and side) and the bulbs are working; but do flash way too fast.

Any ideas?
 
When the car was 1 month old I had a problem with the rear right (O/S) cluster and BMW replaced that. At the time I remember there was a fault light in the in dash display; but no fault display this time.

Another solution of course is never to turn left, then it won't bug me anymore :rofl:
 
Get your better half to do a hand signal and problem over :)

I had a similar problem with a MINI which turned out to be water in a relay.

When i had water in my left tail light the front and side turn indicators were normal brightness and the tail dim, but all flashed rapidly.

I've had the same, hence my prior mention of water in the cluster...

This 100% the correct diagnosis!
 
when my aftermarket LED light bulb broke while driving, the car threw a code and the left turning signal flashes really rapidly. after i replaced the bulb everything was fine again.
