Located near Ibrox in central Glasgow, might be worth a look if anyone is looking for a good indi up this way

cheers

Great timing - was going to ask if there were any specialists in central Scotland and those services prices look great! Does anyone know of any nearer Edinburgh or West Lothian?

Abit closer to Edinburgh and used by a lot of the guys int bmwcc including myself

How's it goin? Just wondering what the best way to get in contact with this garage is i.e. does it have email address (just a bit confused by the different contacts and affiliations and can't find one email address for the garage itself)? In fact how does this place work, is it a proper garage - not sure how it works in relation to the BMWCC?

Final question - do you think they'll do a proper wheel alignment for my Z or am I better off going to http://www.bmwcarspecialists.com/?

Many thanks.

I use Owen Ferry (http://www.owenferryauto.com/, very, VERY good indy with a passion for cars not just ££££££'s. Used Owen for a number of years for my E36, spoke to him about the Z and he was very happy to take the mechanical work when it's needed.

Dunno if the location is of use to you though.

Thanks - this is quite a bit further away from me unfortunately but good to hear that not all garages are cowboys!

BM motors is a one man operation worked from a garage at the back of his house. Dave has been a mechanic for years and worked for other BMW specialists before striking out on his own. he does not,as far as i know, have an e.mail I just use the phone or drop in. He is used by and give a discount to members of the BMWCC and for the last couple of years one meet a year of the scottish section has been based there with him giving cars a free once over. He does not do wheel aligment but aanother BMW mechanic sent me to this place to get my wheel alignment done

Hmmm the biggest cowboys are the dealers, my father is an Indy Garage owner and mechanic and he hates to be tarred by that brush. Some of the stories he tells me aboyut customers coming out of Audi, BMW & Mercedes dealers would make your hair curl. He has fixed cars for £15 quid that a main dealer was quoting £1200 for. Remember you see the fancy reception area, free coffee, attractive secretaries they all cost money, a lot of it and they get it by fleecing people like you and me. It amazes me when people think the dealers are the best place to get the cars fixed when in reality they are generally a bunch of guys who have never fixed a car in their life but are pertty handy at changing parts (most of which are not required).

Rant over and by the way motto as you are looking an indy I am not for a second saying that you think the only place to take your car is a dealer. Just frustrates me all those people that swear by them.
