Increasing steering weight

I think it can be adjusted.
Within the dealers GT1 software are several options to do such things as 'calibrate Active steering after replacement of DSC' Lots of different things by model.

Perhaps worth a call to a dealer

I've often though it's a pity the steering weight option coldn't be adapted with the sport button. I.e. heavier weight as the default, switch to lighter for parking, via a separate button.

In theory being electric and variably mapped this could be tweaked quite easily I think.

It's something I will be looking into as we approach summer and I've got other jobs sorted on my Z4.

Really want to sort out the throttle mapping more than anything in sport mode as it's just so sharp... response = good, top-heavy action = bad.

The problem I see with more castor is that the Z4 already runs quite alot...

The key here is reducing assistance and getting that natural aligning moment coming through to the helm a bit more :)

What happens if you unplug the EPS? Does the steering just go really really heavy? I know it does with the engine/EPS off, but I bet on the go it's actually not THAT bad... :?

When I get time I actually plan to try disconnecting it to see if it's a problem with eps that is causing my high spedd handling issues. I'll report back just how heavy it makes it

It's not really a problem, it just depends what you like. I run 8 degrees pos castor. I get zero tramlining, heavy steering and fast self centering. Suits me fine.

Hey curtis , Remember when you increased the weight before ......jus a tad too much
