Hi im new at this forum and excuse my english spelling = )

I have just bought a Bmw Z4 -03 and i have en tricky problem with that the music volume is increasing when im acclerating?

It doesent matter is i use cd or ipod.. same problem..

Have anybody some idea what the problem can be? Have read that some bmws have automatic sound increasing with speed.. but is that the case with mine? It seems that the problem is only while faster accleration..

Is it maybe a electric fault with the generator producing more electricity?

Would be grateful with some tips!

Thanks

The button has an icon that looks like a musical note. It is below the volume knob on the radio. Push and hold the button for several seconds. The setting is shown as "SPEED VOL" on my radio. And you can select several different values. The higher the value, the more it compensates. The range is 1-6. I think the default value is 3.

You press AND HOLD the left hand button that looks like a musical quaver. If you just press it once you get the Bass, Treble etc.. controls.

Press and hold though gives you the volume/acceleration option....I don't think you can turn it off, mine has a scale of 1-6 so I think you have to experiment.

Have you got a handbook?

i find this a very good feature, i dont want to manually adjust the volume to be louder than the outside noise, let the computer do it for me...

As said,hold the note,and u can change the speed-volume from 1 to 6, 1 bein g the lowest,and more or less off/as far as i can remember.

Why didn't you say :poke:

Have no idea how to do it on a nav car, but found these posts with a search, hopefully try something like this...

Speed-sensitive volume control setting
This feature allows you to increase or decrease the speed sensitive volume with the Business Radio as well as put your radio in different country modes (such as Europe mode). This doesn't work on all radio options, but give it a shot:

First, don't be driving while doing this procedure ! !

Turn the radio off then on again. Don't touch any button except the 'm' button - the button you use to tune the radio frequency manually.
Press and hold the 'm' button for TEN seconds or until the display changes. IIRC, it shows the serial number of the unit.
Normally when you press 'm', the display will reflect that by replacing 'ST' (stereo tuning) with 'm'.
When holding the 'm' button for this procedure, the display should not do this - you will continue to see 'ST' for the ten seconds.

Now if the display has changed, you are in a configure mode on the radio.
If you press the '+' or '-' button you change modes.
The mode you want will display as "GAL (1-6)".
This mode allows you to adjust the speed-sensitive volume control.
Use the radio preset buttons 1-6 to set the amount of volume change you want at speed.
Setting 1 is the Smallest change, 6 is the Largest – highest amount of change.
Stock setting from factory is "3"

If you have a NAV car then you have to press and hold the SEL button with the key in position 1 or 2, you then get the serial number and you can then change the options with the < and > buttons.
