Increase in business miles

Evening all,

Thanks for all of the responses, some of them really well thought out and I knew I could rely on this forum to come up with some decent ideas.

I think in the short term I will just stick with the train, with the odd journey in the Z4 (because I do miss driving it when Ive not been in it for a few days). That way I get to reduce my total miles compared to normal (14 miles to station and back, vs 62 miles to the office and back), so not only saving miles but money too. Train costs me nothing neither does the parking, its just the inconvenience of the train which gets annoying when I have bags, boots, laptop etc.

Longterm I will look into some of the options suggested, some cars I had not thought of (that 5 series with LPG for example), I think I will see how it pans out over the next month or two (especially with this company Van) as this will allow be to explore the options.

Whilst I have sufficient funds to buy a second car, I have been there before (with my old Z4 and a VW TDI), it was good in one way, but it was not cheap (2 sets of tax, 2 sets of insurance, 2 lots of servicing, 2 MOT's, tyres etc), But if I could buy a workhorse, keep it for 6-12 months then sell without having to do much maintenance then its worth a look.

Regards
