Incorrect lifespan of brake pads - Sytners answer.

Well got this sorted at local Indy for the price of a couple of pints.
5 minute job using there re-setter and now showing 50000 left on rear.
Nothing wrong with sensor.
Moral is don't let the mileage left get very low before re-setting using dash method.
Perhaps it even needs the partially worn sensor removing/reconnect just to tell the system new sensor is fitted.
I think all the sensor does is tell the computer when the pad is totally worn to it's limit.
And then perhaps allows maximum reset value.

When I set the original pads last year I think the reset mileage was not very high, I seem to remember keeping my finger on the reset, it jumps up in multiples.
I was a bit cautious as i had kept my finger a bit to long on my oil reset and set to some silly value.
If the mileage is set low, the computer counts down and indicates pads were worn out, even though they had plenty left.
It could count down simply based on number of brake applications. Since I have been doing lots of commuter driving.
