In your opinion what are the 'must do' changes...

1. Get rid of run flats
2. M sport seats if you dont have them
3. 18 inch wheels if you dont have them
4. All clear lights if you dont have them
5. Change exhaust, so it actually sounds good

Getting rid of the runflats...

and your other 4......... :poke:

Alan, I think Bill picked the most important one :) my RFT are still on the wheels resting in the garage (put out to pasture so to speak) while I enjoy my winter Michelin ICE Non-RFT. My car will never ever again see RFT :)

as for the other 4 points ... they are all good picks and for some Members here an important choice. I like the car just the way she was designed by the two ladies.

BTW my winter tires are fantastic, great grip, smooth ride and very quiet :)

Inspired by this thread, went to look at the sound generator on mine in the office car park at lunch. About 5 minutes later I was back at the desk with one of the foam chunks removed. Really is that easy.

TBH, not noticing a massive difference in noise, but only a week in so still being fairly gentle on the car, trying to minimise the risk, given that I'm trying to get used to it and rear wheel drive during lots of frosty/icy weather! So I'll take everyone's word that it sounds better :)

Might need to remove more foam, although TBH I notice the most difference in mine under harder acceleration and at higher (3k+ revs) - neither of which are best suited to the current weather/road conditions...

Hi guys, newbie Mr Thicko here - but why ditch the RFTs ?

(and what's an MFSW ?)

Told you I was thick !

MFSW = MULTI FUNCTION STEERING WHEEL.

RFT a lot of people do not like the ride quality and general feel of them when driving but ive had my Z for 3 years now and find them OK yes the car tramlines a bit but so do a lot of cars on wide low profile tyres especially on our crap roads take the Z to France and it drives like a dream.

Dont get me wrong occasionally it can catch you out on a bad road and move to one side but just have to keep your wits about you.

They also say its crashy but as i have said before to me its not that bad just a bit bouncy and again in Europe its fine plus i like the idea that a RFT can stay on the rim at a high speed if you have a sudden loss of air and can be driven home safely at 50mph so no worries about picking up a puncture on those nice sunday runs and more room in the boot.

Coming from a Dax Cobra you will find the Z4 on RFT quite tame would imagine the Dax was a handfull.

Thanks yet again Gaza - yes the Cobra could be a handful :o But I'm looking forward to getting the Zed - all I'll do for a while is just stand and look at it :D

I've got RFT's on the 120 and don't mind the ride at all.

Now then young man, please could you explain a bit more about this sound generator thing - never heard of it before - it sounds like something they used to fit to Stukas ! :poke:

1. 19" with non RFT's (staggered)
2. Suspension
3. M-Steering wheel
4. Good soundsystem with iPod interface
5. GARAGE!!!
