Hi guys, I'm seriously thinking about getting a Z4MC and have a couple of questions, some may be a little bit basic but I need to get them out of the way... I'm currently running an Exige S and a focus, so will be combining the two for something fun but can take on the GT role when needed.
So simple ones first, iPod integration. What packs do I need or what aftermarket kit is needed to properly integrate an iPod so I can control all audio through the head unit and wheel (I think I'll go for nav too as this seems essential for resale, not sure if this makes a difference). I know many have an aux in but I need to control all of it properly without faffing around. Obviously I'm happy to dispense with any changer that may be there as its a bit redundant if that frees up options.
On a similar note, Bluetooth; is the Bluetooth prep suitable for use with iPhones? It's pretty essential for me to be able to call when on the road, so would need to know if its worth getting this or if the reality is I'm going to have to get an aftermarket kit anyway so don't waste time looking for integration.
Other than that what are the things to look out for? I know that there is the snapping rear spring issues, and i've heard mutterings about the diff getting noisy. What else is there to look out for? I take it the vanos issue is sorted on these? Im planning on getting a car with the BMW warranty still in place, and keep extending it for a few years - if the car doesn't have this can it be reinstated? I guess not but worth asking.
And any essential options needed?
Sorry for the long post but I thought I'd ask it all at once!
I'll be looking to buy in the next two or three weeks, but will wait for the right car if I have to. Spec that I have in mind is a coupe, black or red preferred, blue possibly, silver out. Black interior preferred, with nav and Bluetooth prep. Under 20k miles preferred. Full BMWSH, and BMW warranty. If you've got something like that coming up for sale in the next few weeks let me know, but I will be waiting for a few weeks to shuffle money round.
Cheers, Paul
