What should i have with my car thought i would ask on here before i go back to dealer with yet another stupid question?

I cant find locking wheel nut etc, is there a place for it?

Also is the service interval time related or just mileage, mines coming up to 12mnths old with 8k on the clock and says 14k to next service?

Try under the boot floor next to the battery?

edit: ignore me, not sure on the E89

Servicing is related to usage, not simply mileage or time, though they are limiting and contributory factors also. Simply go by what the car tells you and don't worry.

The locking wheel nut should be part of the tool pack, mine's found wedged down the side of the battery compartment under the boot floor/cover, a small black/red wallet. As far as I know, the tool kit is the only item to be found in the boot that BMW provide, thats not fixed down of course.

My car came with a little bag with a small bottle of oil in it, and another bag with a first aid kit. The wheel nut is as Maniac described (I've seen the toolkit bag, but not opened it!).

As above, you get a locking wheel nut, a screwdriver? and a tow hoop.

I had to go hunting for it when i took my front wheels off to hammerite the nasty rusty front brake clips

The op did mention in the boot.. Which yes has a triangle attached to the boot lid. Please do not store your first aid kit in the boot. In the event of an emergency if the car has no power you cannot access the boot. Best to keep this in the car somewhere easy to access.

Absolutely -- I moved the first aid kit to the rear shelf about a week ago. But it was in the boot when we took delivery.

Me too - moved it today to the storage compartment in the back shelf, cos I'm too inflexible to store anything in there that is regularly used!

Hate this, the old z4 had a nice storage compartment under the pasanger seat. now its knocking about which can get pinched if you have the roof down.

The rear storage shelf is a good idea, and a bad one if you leave the top down, leters to post with the top down driving is also a bad idea.

you should have a little roll up bag with fuses, spanner, tow hook and wheel nut. Stored by the battery. I have a spare old z4 model, the dealer lost it so ordered a new kit, I found it jammed under the drivers seat for some reason.

Unsure painting the break calipers any issues with them BMW will not wty them as you have messed with them.
