In or out I'm not too bothered. What this referendum shows is the UK's democratic process is totally broken; a minority (just under 37.5%) vote will cause this country to leave the EU.

Twist the figures how you want.
I can't remember the exact figures but over 4million voted UKIP and got 1 MP where less votes were cast for SNP who got 56 MPs.
Your point is ?

There was a referendum for PR which got defeated.

I am glad Scotland can afford free healthcare and free universities whilst no other country can afford that. Long may it continue after an independence ...

Excellent isn't it. Perhaps you should ask your MP why that is instead of accepting Tuition Fees or Prescription Charges as normal. There's always that £350 million that goes to the EU every week that can be spent on the NHS. Oh wait that one wasn't actually true was it!

In Scotland they're free despite increased cuts in funding to the NHS in England by the Tories but you all know how that works anyway being experts on Scotland and Scottish politics.

Was great to see so many Junior Doctors applying for positions in Scotland during and after the Junior Doctors strikes in England. Why would they want to come to Scotland? Privatisation of the NHS in England and the fact that the NHS in Scotland (which is devolved) has better statistics in healthcare than England. Wales? Well Labour wrecked the NHS in Wales but you know what happened there.

Looking good that today there's already some big name companies looking to relocate from London to Edinburgh. So the exodus begins and the result isn't a day old yet! This is due to Scotland remaining in the EU and England not but you know this.

Remember the UK debt of £1.7 Trillion. Scotland could in theory walk away without any percentage of the debt. If Scotland takes 8 - 10% of the debt (which would be fair) depending on how it's calculated (Population or Land Mass) then we also take the same percentage of every UK Asset. That would be UK Assets at home and abroad to keep it simple it includes ships, planes, tanks, guns, museums, land owned, money, gold etc. Basically anything at all belonging to the UK. What am I doing you know all this!

No assets = no debt but I'm sure that since you don't have to subsidise the Scots then paying off the £1.7 Trillion Debt will be a piece of cake especially without the oil, gas, renewables, Scottish produce, Scottish exports, Scottish Taxes etc. and that's before you even consider the Scottish Billions that are exported from the City of London and other places due to creative accounting that goes on at the Treasury. There I go again telling you what you already know!

Scotland would also cease to pay for the head of state and her family, extended family, servants, security, castles, etc. So that's an 8% cut in the funding immediately for that lot. Ownership of land in Scotland is already being looked at closely but I apologise for telling you what you already know.

No more Scottish money for the BBC either. Shame that eh!

So the BBC would lose around £234 million in Scottish revenue that's spent outside Scotland. I know you have the figures there but here it is for everyone else. £320 million raised in Licence Fees in Scotland minus the £86 million that's actually spent on Scottish programming by the BBC = £234 million.

You have also heard about the Crown Estate and how much income that makes in Scotland. They have been transferring over the management duties of this to Scotland via the Smith Commission but :headbang: you know that anyway.

Scotland and the UK has been gearing up for Independence for years. It is happening and it will work. Tick Tock!

This guy sounds like a Scottish Farage, just a little more angrier

Nicely written Skelters.
From Ranskis reply it just shows how blinkered a lot of people are about what really happens. They all just listen to the headlines and believe them to be true.

How hard is it to open your eyes and see past the headlines.

We know an Independent Scotland would have problems but the country that gave the world some of the greatest inventions known to man would be able to fix any problems we come up against.

The UK is finished although the right wing press are now seriously going backwards saying the result can be ignored and it's not binding.

NI residents are seeking Dual Nationality Passports.

IMO its about time everyone grew up and accepted the result - we live in a democracy and for good or bad, a decision was made by the electorate. We need now to concentrate on how we manage this moving forward. There will be challenges, downsides and upsides. Will Scotland leave? Up to the Scots (or the selected few that are allowed to vote) to decide that one. Will Ireland reunify? Again, its up to the NI/Eire electorates o to decide that. Whatever the votes, the decisions will be made, and we have to live with that and move on.

This thread started off as an exit poll, and has now degenerated into a platform for spouting spurious statistics, assumptions, and nationalistic ideals. And that's what got us to this position in the first place.

That would include everyone 16 and over on the date of the vote unlike the EU vote that excluded 16 - 18 year olds as Tories didn't want them to vote.

That would be the English Nationalists that started that one. Would be interested in hearing their thoughts wouldn't you but they are too busy being the 1st generation walking up right in their family to be bothered.

You know, the UKIP / Extreme Right Tories / BNP / National Front types and the media that they control who force fed English Nationalism to xenophobic levels.

The collective bullshit of Greatest Country in the World, X-Factor, The Empire, We Won the War, Queen and Country, Rule Britannia, Union Jack on everything, Britains Got Talent, Benefits Scroungers, White Cliffs of Dover, Johnny Foreigner, the football teams, It was the Russians that were fighting not the English boys they were having a mass flower arranging and feeding puppies etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum.

It actually goes back a lot further than any of you may realise. Look up who started the myth of the drunken Scotsman or the thick Irishman or the coal mining sheep farming Welshman who was in a choir. Look that up and you'll see the real cause of this disaster and I'll tell you for nothing that it wasn't a Scotsman, Irishman, Welshman.

Although they are good at covering up the Murderers, Paedophiles and Rapists and making it all go away.

And for what? Money. It's all down to money and how much those in charge can make from this while blaming everyone else. Austerity? Casino London and the UK is bankrupt. This is their way out as the rich can rape the poor of every penny and get away with it.

You really need to ask yourself who they will blame when the immigrants or benefits scroungers are not there to take the blame.

Meanwhile the man on the street ate it all up with his copy of The Sun or whatever other rag he reads believing the propaganda that was being force fed to him whether he likes it or not while watching Ant and fucking Dec and being told they're being entertained.

Ask yourself how many times Farage or any other UKIP cretin was on Question Time without actually being questioned on the racist and vile propaganda they spout. Same goes for the Tories and Labour.

Today there were lies on BBC Scotchland or MisReporting Scotland as we call it here. Interviewers don't question the lies and let it go. It then becomes fact. Rinse and repeat and soon the people believe the s**t they peddle.

Greatest Country in the World, envy of the world. Laughing stock more like!

Tell you what though. They think it's all over. It is now!

That's teasing..... offer a drink but putting conditions around it :D Jura's a nice offer though

First hauf since Ne'er day and as I sit down to have the first sip the door goes.

The dog goes mental until he realises it's my next door neighbour and calms down.

Turns out the Virgin Multi Room thing isn't working and they really need it to work.

Had to go in and turn it off and back on so finally get to the Jura 20 minutes after pouring it.

Bloody foreigners coming over here and not knowing how to use digital TV!
