Very true. All elections are important but this one is just a teeny bit more important than any other before. People are dangerous but it's done now.
Which is why I hadn't made my decision until about 4pm yesterday, as with all elections I try my best to separate the 'spin' from the 'facts' - as I assume 90% of what comes out of the politicians mouth is bull and needs further/proper research.

Unfortunately, for such a huge decision, we were 'spinned' to death, and the 'facts' were conspicuous by their omission.

Maybe the majority were bored of the amount of broken election promises from all parties, and didn't believe they could keep their promises on renegotiating our deal with the EU. After all, they've been trying for years and have got nowhere, so how did they expect to do it now?

Where does it say that the whole amount would be spent on the NHS? Or do you fall for all those 'special offers' in supermarkets too :poke:

Although it was good to see the odious Farage squirm :P

The situation at the French side of the channel tunnel is getting serious.........

Always good to see Farage squirm. What is the actual point of that knobhead?

On a serious note it's Mid-morning on day one, so it's a tad bit early for declaring this as a disaster.

Also, the value of the pound/markets has risen recently as those "in the know" (lol) had decided we would remain. After all, they always get it right. So the markets would need naturally stabilise after their "gamble".

The graph below shows the FTSE level for the past 20 years and it's been above 6000 during THREE periods during that time and it's still above 6000. So there's a LONG way to go before we're in the kind of trouble people are talking/scaremongering about.

It's all fucked now.

Hell mend the lot of you Leave voters.

S&P has confirmed that the UK is likely to lose its final AAA credit rating. That £1.7 Trilion debt mostly run up by the Tories will go over £2 Trillion just paying off the interest.

Today in Scotland all businesses are closed as everyone is laughing too much to work. This is due to the lies that the English and Welsh have fallen for from the Leave campaign, state media broadcaster BBC Pravda and the right wing Tory Press.

2nd and final Scottish Independence Referendum about to be announced by Nicola Sturgeon or there's a slim chance of a immediate UDI.

Scotland will take the Oil, Gas and the fishing rights and stay in Europe. Any doubters on the amount of Oil and Gas we have in Scotland should look up Clare Ridge. Anyone not knowing how little fishing waters England and Wales have should look up the English fishing territory. The Territory that was handed to England by Tony "The War Criminal" Blair will be returned to Scotland.

Could you also let us know where you want the rented Trident Nukes parked as they're not staying here.

Sinn Fein are calling for unification of Ireland Poll.

The rise of fascism is here. Last out of England close the door and turn out the lights.

The England soccerball team will complete the f**k up by getting humped on Monday against Iceland.

Still laughing here!

Yes it is depressing but after the lies Scotland were hit with about Scottish independence there will be a lot of NO Voters that intend to vote Yes in the next Independence Referendum after this result today.

Scottish Independence is coming sooner rather than later and it will not be stopped.

Nicola Sturgeon has pulled the rug from under the Leave side with the statement she's just made.

Scotland will be staying in the EU.The UK is finished!

She won't have the legal right to call a referendum though, that has to be approved / done via Westminster who won't have an appetite for that nor a reason. They had their chance, you can't keep doing referendums about the same thing. The vote was cast, end of.

And why would she be allowed anyway - keep calling referendums until you get a result you like?

That's why she likes the EU - it's been their approach when a referendum comes up with a result they don't like...

She just explained it.

It's coming whether people like you like it or not and no matter what you say.

Pretty sure there is 80% support for an Independent Scotland now !

And that's just in England

Who says Scotland would be accepted into the EU? Or did I miss something?

After all, surely the EU needs some countries that will be adding to the coffers, not just ones looking for a pay-out. :fuelfire:

Excellent point!

Mike

AIUI, and I may be wrong because it's a complex area, Scotland can't just remain a member of the EU if the UK leaves - it's the UK that's a member of the EU not England/Scotland/Wales/N. Ireland in their own right so once the UK invokes article 50 that's it, all of the UK is committed to leave...

If Scotland has a referendum after the invocation of Article 50 (and they're not going to have one before) and votes to become an independent country, they would then have to apply for EU membership in their own right as an independent country - this is a process that can take years and, along with all new applicants, they would, amongst other things, have to agree to take the Euro
